Spine divided into five compartments with small geometric snakelike design impressed into the brown leather as is commonly found on Cork bindings (we therefore believe this is a contemporary Irish binding) , black title label and gilt, marbled boards and endpapers, neat signature of a former owner on ep 625pp. A small hole within the top compartment does not detract from this handsome binding.
