Title page has some marks or stains, original third endpaper has a hand written note stating that ” this book was sent to me in July 1819by my cousin German Thomas O`Conor of New york the author, signed Mr Wm Macdermot , Coolavin may 28th 1820, all in beautifull copperplate handwrighting, Below this is written, this book was read by one – the great grandson of the above, Hugh MacDermot in the month of Aug 1920, one hundred years after the above was ? (we cannot decifer the word but must mean read ) Coolavin Aug 1920 This copy was bought along with the rest of the library by us from Coolavin House Co Sligo, the MacDermots were the Princes of Conought who trace their liniage back to Brian Boru.
